What you get

Why Omabuilt

Omarchy is excellent — and installing it yourself is often fine. A lot of people still don’t want to spend an evening on USB boots, encryption prompts, and “does Wi‑Fi work on this year?”

Omabuilt is for that. We put Omarchy on Macs and verify it on the unit you’re buying — convenience and a known-good setup, not a DIY install tutorial.

FAQ

What is Omarchy? +
Omarchy is an opinionated Arch Linux setup (Hyprland desktop and sensible defaults) aimed at developers who want a finished environment, not a weekend of config. Learn more at omarchy.org. Omabuilt is independent and not an official Omarchy product.
Which Macs do you sell? +
Right now: Intel Macs (MacBook Pros and similar) chosen for solid Linux support and value. Each listing shows year, model, specs, and condition. Apple Silicon (M‑series) is on our roadmap once we can ship them with a repeatable, documented setup.
Is this a new computer? +
Depends on the unit. Every machine is prepared and verified with Omarchy. We price them as ready-to-work Omarchy machines, not bargain as‑is hardware.
What’s installed when it arrives? +
Current Omarchy, set up for a clean handoff so you can set your own user and password on first boot when possible. Listings note anything specific about that unit.
What do you test? +
At minimum: boot, display, keyboard, trackpad, Wi‑Fi, audio, and basic battery health. We don’t claim every port and quirk is perfect on decade-old hardware — we tell you what we checked.
Can I get a machine like one you’ve sold, or have you source something specific? +
Yes. Use the request form. Tell us the year/spec range you want and we’ll see what’s realistic.
Do you support the machine after I buy it? +
Yes, for a limited window after delivery. Exact length and what’s covered are on the listing / confirmation — we’re keeping it honest and finite so we can stay responsive.
Returns / shipping? +
Covered on each listing and at checkout. Condition varies by unit; we describe it up front.
Are you affiliated with Omarchy or DHH? +
No. We install and sell machines running Omarchy. We’re fans, not partners.
Why not just install it myself? +
Lots of people should. If you want the evening back, want hardware that’s already been through this exact path, or just prefer buying a finished unit — that’s what Omabuilt is for.
